Dear Fellow Pilots,
As we stand on the cusp of a new era for our union, the TRC Slate is honored to reach out to you with a renewed vision and a strategic direction that will redefine how your union will advocate for our collective interests. Our profession demands the highest standards of skill, dedication, and resilience. It is time for our union representation to mirror these qualities with equal vigor.
A New Direction for Our Union
Our primary focus will be to ensure that our voices are not only heard but actively shape the future of our profession. We aim to adopt a proactive stance in negotiations, anticipating challenges and presenting innovative solutions that address both our immediate concerns and long-term aspirations. This involves comprehensive strategic planning, in-depth industry analysis, and leveraging pilot survey data to strengthen our bargaining position
Advancing Our Interests
Contract Negotiations: We will push for higher compensation by way of higher wages and CRT. Improved work rules that reflect the critical role we play in the strategy of “Great to Giant”. This includes advocating for better scheduling practices to ensure work- life balance.
Health and Well-being: Pilots face unique physical and mental health challenges. We will prioritize our health insurance benefit to continue during a medical issue that prevents a first class medical. Access to top-tier medical support and mental health resources. A healthy pilot is an effective pilot, and we must ensure our members have the support they need.
Career Protection: after Apollo acquired Atlas, we have seen significant changes and not all have been in our favor. We will work towards long term CBA protections that protect us when Atlas decides to change business strategy, as we all just experienced with the exit from the Amazon CMI contract.
Fostering a Collaborative Relationship with Management
While our primary allegiance is to our members, we recognize that fostering a constructive relationship with management is essential. Collaboration does not equate to capitulation; rather, it is about mutual respect and understanding. We will approach management with well- researched proposals and a solutions-oriented mindset, aiming to find common ground that benefits both parties.
Open Dialogue: Establishing regular communication channels with management to address issues promptly and constructively. Transparent and honest discussions will help prevent misunderstandings and foster a cooperative environment.
Joint Initiatives: Collaborating to enhance operational efficiency, safety standards, and overall company performance. These joint efforts can lead to a more sustainable and profitable airline, benefiting both pilots and management.
Conflict Resolution: Implementing effective mechanisms for resolving disputes swiftly and fairly, ensuring that our members' grievances are addressed without escalating into prolonged and repeated conflicts.
Maintaining Independence and Integrity
While we strive for a cooperative relationship, it is crucial to maintain our independence and integrity. Our union must never be perceived as an extension of management. We will establish clear boundaries to ensure our actions and decisions are driven solely by our members' best interests.
Transparency: Keeping our members informed about all negotiations, decisions, and strategic directions. Transparency builds trust and ensures our union remains accountable to its members.
Member Involvement: Actively seeking input from our members through surveys, forums, and direct communication. Your feedback and insights are invaluable in shaping our union's policies and actions.
Vigilance: Remaining vigilant against any attempts to undermine our independence. We will rigorously defend our right to advocate for our members without undue influence from management.
Conclusion
Together, we have the power to steer our union towards a future where our contribution to the Atlas business strategy is properly compensated. This new direction is about unity, strength, and a relentless commitment to the well-being of every pilot we represent.
In Solidarity,
The Right Choice Slate
